Please read carefully and completely. Each parade participant is expected to know and abide by the following parade rules.
- The person in charge of each entry-commercial, primary, or other-is responsible to make sure that there is a waiver signed and turned in for all participants (there are separate forms for the adults and for the children.) All waivers are due on or before July1st, 2016. Double check to make sure you have a signed waiver for each participant.
- DO NOT USE 1200 NORTH FROM MAIN ST.TO DROP OFF CHILDREN When dropping off children for the parade, please ONLY use 400 North to 400 East to the southeast side of Mapleton Jr. High School. You can also use 600 North to 400 East.
- Floats MUST arrive at 8:00am at the Jr. High and the children for the float by 8:30 am.
- There is NO PARKING allowed in the parade line-up area or in the Mapleton Elementary School parking lot, so please plan accordingly. There is NOT PUBLIC parking on the east side of 300 west.
- Parents/guardians must pick up their children at Mapleton Elementary School parking lot 300 W. Maple St. As soon as you see your child’s float go by , please make your way to Mapleton Elementary to pick up your children. They will be located in the grassy area west of the school near the playground. There will be signs with the ward #’s on them, so look for them there. Please MAKE SURE the parents of your primary children know this.
- Once your float has reached the end of the parade you will drive into the Mapleton Elementary Parking/drop-off area. Please have all participants quickly exit the float and line up by their ward sign. PLEASE LEAVE THE PARKING/DROP-OFF AREA IMMEDIATELY! If not you will back up the parade so please be considerate of the people and floats behind you.
- If you have animals that will be in the parade, YOU MUST HAVE A POOPER SCOOPER! NO EXCEPTIONS! You will not be able to particiapte in the parade without one. You are in charge of any mess made by your animal.
- If you wish to give out candy, flyers, etc. you may do so AS LONG AS you are walking along the parade route away from any vehicle. NO PERSONS IN A MOVING VEHICLE MAY THROW CANDY! NO EXCEPTIONS! You must walk along the parade route and HAND out candy, NO THROWING!
- If you choose to have scooter or bikes in the parade, each person MUST HAVE A HELMET! NO HELMET=NO PARADE
